About Me

Nathan Ingrim is a professional oboist and educator from Central Texas. He began his musical studies at an early age, studying both piano and oboe. In 2014, he earned a Bachelor's degree in music from Baylor University where he studied with Dr. Doris DeLoach. He attended Eastern Music Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, National Orchestral Institute, Berlin Opera Academy as well as annual Imani Winds Chamber Festival. In 2017, he earned a master’s degree from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. While at CCM, Nathan studied with Dr. Mark Ostoich, Dwight Parry and Lon Bussell.

He is an ABD doctoral student at Florida State University and studied with Dr. Eric Ohlsson. He is now based in Dallas, TX. He is a current student of Erin Hannigan and an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Additionally, he works as a freelance player with numerous orchestras including the Jacksonville Symphony, the Tallahassee Symphony and others. He also works as a professional reed maker for numerous retailers such as Bocal Majority and MKL Reeds (Virginia.) Nathan has competed in numerous international competitions. He made his Carnegie Hall debut in early 2019 as part of the Concert Artists International Competition and was awarded Second Prize. He was named semi-finalist in the national Classics Alive solo competition in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, Nathan was a finalist for The Orchestra Now fellowship orchestra and a finalist for the United States Army Field Band.

Nathan is extremely passionate about new music for the oboe as well as music that combines oboe with mixed ensembles and multimedia. He currently working on a multi-year project to commission and perform numerous works for solo oboe and chamber ensembles from new, emerging composers.

Nathan plays a Loree AK which was finished and purchased in 2014, a C series standard Loree and a Loree English horn from 2016.
